In order to make it possible for Sayl Resto to integrate with LS, some important configuration should be done in Lightspeed.

This involves dedicating the payment means & table mapping with Sayl Resto names. Potentially you will also need to configure your delivery method pricing & voucher coupons between LS and Sayl Resto.

Payment means

You must define a dedicated payment method for the online payments that go via Sayl Resto. Just add one of the following names to your payment methods in LS and our Sayl Resto system will automatically recognise this:
For cash payment :add one of the following pay methods: 'Ask Emma cash', 'askemma cash' (note: cash is in practice only used for testing reasons for takeaway/delivery. When going live, remove this payment method in LS. When using eatin in combination with ‘pay at cash register’, askemma cash should be there!) For online payment : 'askemma' During the injection into Lightspeed, Sayl Resto will check if one of these payment types are defined. If one value matches, the payment is then automatically linked to that payment type.

The payment type field of the method ‘askemma’ must be eligible for online payments. In most cases, this is something like ‘CARD’. If you configure the type field wrong in the payment method within Lightspeed, your orders will NOT arrive in Lightspeed.

Loyalty

For users with a master/subaccount structure, it is important to understand that loyalty can only be configured on the masteraccount.

This example shows the data of an active loyalty program. You can just click on a specific order which brings you to the specific customer information field.

You can add a new program or choose to edit the configuration of an existing program. You can activate only one loyalty program at the moment.

Most fields speak for themselves. You can choose the name for your points, and add symbols which will be shown to the client. We also provided extra information that explains the functionalities of the different fields.

Pay special attention with the rules and the treshold.

You can also exclude specific shops from this loyalty program.

Connecting your restaurant printer that is connected to lightspeed

This article helps you answering the question: “Why do my orders not print in my Point Of Sale system?”, specifically for the Sayl integration with the Lightspeed POS Resto.

1. The printing template is wrong

Lightspeed automatically decides if an order must go to the kitchen or bar based on the “printing template” of the product category of a product. So if your order is not sent straight into the kitchen, open the Restaurant manager, go to the product, check which product category. Now go to the product categories, choose the category that you want. A popup comes up. Click on the “printing template” link. A popup comes up and lets you choose between Bar and Kitchen. Note that you first have to click the selected value before you can switch to another value. Cocktails, soft drinks and coffee will go to the bar, warm food will go to the kitchen. Note: if an order is shot in, the resto does not expect that the printer at the cash register already prints something. At that moment, only printer at bar and kitchen should do its work.

Wondering how you can set up the looks of your webshop? This can be done in the settings menu → click on menu option “Sayl Resto ”. Select your shop, you now arrived in the Sayl Resto settings interface.

The first tab allows you to select your webshop URL. We call it the URL builder.

Just select your storefront, service and language. You will then see your website URL just below.

First of all, choose your template.

Set up your timeslots

first, go to settings:

You will find an identical menu in 'Shops' & 'preparation locations'. Both menus allow you to define time slots.

It is important to understand the difference between the settings of ‘shops’ and ‘preparation locations’.

Shops timeslots will enable your customers to order at these specific moments. We recommend that you set up from 00h00m tot 23H59m. So people can order 24/7 in fact. This influences whether or not a client can continue from your shop to the confirmation page:

If the order time does not match the configured time at shop level, the client won't be able to order.

Preparations locations timeslots are the hours there will be a real client interaction, like a pickup in the restaurant. If you set up in preparation locations => delivery => time slots from 17h00m to 21h00m, clients will be able to get their delivery between these hours. It's also here that you choose the duration of the shown timeslots. In this example, the duration is set on 15min.
